U2 tour update: You've never seen anything like this

The big U2 tour? It's Like nothing you've ever seen, it says here:

“It’s hard to come up with something that’s fundamentally different, but we have, I think, on this tour,” guitarist the Edge told Billboard. “Where we’re taking our production will never have been seen before by anybody, and that’s an amazing thing to be able to say.”

Now, it's possible, I admit, that U2 have come up with something that nobody has ever seen before - a new colour, perhaps, or The Edge without a hat on. But what I suspect Mr. Edge means by this is that they're spending a bloody fortune (or "tax write-off") on the set, to create some flashing lights and a few hydraulic lifts. And some smoke, and perhaps Bono will get his face-painted during one song. It will look expensive. Of that, there can be no doubt.

Let's reassure ourselves that what The Edge is saying is "if you spend a lot on the tickets, don't worry, as we're investing heavily to make sure you don't have to pay too much attention to the music."
